Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.
Liberty Christian Church was formed in November of 1996 at the direction of the Lord. It has gone through two name changes in the last few years and is now known as Liberty Life Church, but the core beliefs have always remained the same. We are a family within God’s family that’s built on the foundation of faith, allowing freedom in the Holy Spirit, and helping people win. Pastor Stewart’s messages are life changing and are packed with revelation. God’s presence is often felt and sensed as songs and sermons flow from His presence. Many have testified to the Lord’s goodness as the Word is preached and the anointing flows. It is Pastor Stewart’s desire to see every burden removed and every yoke destroyed so that every believer is completely free and lives in total victory!

I moved to Mattoon recently, in order to go to school. I’ve had problems finding churches that were accepting of me, because I am not heterosexual. I was wondering what the church’s viewpoint, and what the pastor’s (if it’s not to personal to ask) views are. I would really appreciate it, and hope that I can find a nice church family here at school.

Frances, I hope that the email I sent you answering your questions in a bit more detail was helpful. As I stated in it, we’d love to have you come and check us out. We don’t advocate non-hetero practices, but we DO believe that God wants us to love ALL people – not just heterosexuals, or just whites, or just any particular group that you’d like to list. We are just called to love people and help them get to know Him better.
