Pastor’s Notes – April 2012 / Your Victory Is In the Cross

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ.  ~ 1 Corinthians 15:52

Jesus triumphed over death, hell, and the grave at Calvary when He shed His blood and died. The devil thought he had Him when Jesus was nailed to that cross. He actually thought he was in control when Jesus went to the cross. But, what satan didn’t realize is that God had a plan – a plan of redemption – and the cross was part of that plan.

You see, God was orchestrating things, not the devil, when they nailed Jesus to the cross. The devil wasn’t planning on God raising Jesus from the dead on the 3rd day, but He did. Satan, as always, miscalculated. That’s why the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:8, “… which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.”

God’s plan prevailed – satan’s plan failed. God Won! Our victory has been achieved. No demon in hell can change or undo what God did through Jesus at the cross of Calvary. All satan can do is lie to you and say, “well, it may have worked for so-and-so, but it will never work for you.” Don’t listen to that lie. It will work for you. It will work for anybody that will believe it.

When you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and with your mouth confess Him as Lord, His redemption is made effective in you. Once you make the decision to do that, no demon in hell can stop it. All the devil can do is stand there and watch. Jesus rendered satan totally helpless and powerless. Satan was totally defeated at Calvary. Victory has been won!!!

Because of Christ’s victory at Calvary, you can have many victories. You can have victory in your relationships, victory in your health, victory in your finances. Don’t settle for less when you can have God’s very best! Accept by faith what God did for you through His son Jesus, and live in victory every day.

You don’t have to live a defeated life anymore. And you don’t have to wait until you die and go to Heaven either …

Your Victory Is In The Cross!
